Watch me learn sessions.
Following feedback from parents, that they would welcome guidance and support on how to support their child in reading and phonics, we organised a series of “watch me learn” lessons.
Each class invited parents to come along and take part in a reading, spelling, phonics or comprehension lesson to demonstrate different ways to engage their children in learning and to give parents an idea of what is expected for their child’s age range.
Parents who came along were very impressed with what they saw and said, “I think the work and setting was fantastic. I am impressed.” “Children were kept motivated throughout.” Other parents commented on how it would help them help their children, saying, “I enjoyed watching the class and I think this will help with my daughters homework.” Another said, “I learned new techniques and really enjoyed watch and learn – this will help with homework and reading at home – thank you.”
We are delighted that the sessions have been such a success and look forward to organising more “watch me lessons” with a different focus, in the future.
