Mrs James has been a teacher for 18 years, three of which have been at St. Andrew’s Primary school, where she will take up the post as Acting Head Teacher in September 2016. She graduated from Northumbria University with a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Education in 1998 and has worked in two large schools in Gateshead, before coming to Bishop Auckland to be become Senior Leader then Deputy Head at St. Andrew’s Primary School. She has taught children from Reception age up to Year 6 and has lead on areas such as; literacy, behaviour, coaching, assessment and basic skills.
Mrs James has lived in Durham all her life and now lives with her husband and daughter in a small village near the city. She is passionate about raising aspirations in young people and providing opportunities for a successful future for all children in her care.
She has no relevant business or pecuniary interests that impact her role as Governor.
